Lonzo Ball Says It's 'Funny' Joel Embiid Told Ben Simmons to Dunk on Him
If Thursday night was any indication, the Philadelphia 76ers and Los Angeles Lakers may soon have a little rivalry on their hands.
Shortly after the Lakers selected Lonzo Ball with the second pick in the 2017 NBA draft, 2016 No. 1 overall pick Ben Simmons tweeted "crazy pills," seemingly in reference to LaVar Ball's interview with ESPN.
Joel Embiid followed up by asking Simmons to put the Lakers' new point guard on a poster:
Ball, though, didn't bite on the smack talk. Rather, he simply told reporters on a conference call he was amused by the jabs.
"That's funny," he said, according to ESPN.com's Ramona Shelburne.
While the Lakers loaded up by adding Ball to the mix, the Sixers bolstered their asset stockpile by selecting combo guard Markelle Fultz at No. 1 overall.
The former Washington Huskies standout will now flank Simmons and Embiid as they attempt to crank The Process up a notch.
And with stars galore littering both rosters, the Sixers and Lakers should make for appointment viewing when they clash next season.
