Manchester United Transfer News: Adnan Januzaj Deal with Sociedad Reportedly Set

Manchester United have reportedly agreed to sell Adnan Januzaj to Real Sociedad for a fee of £9.7 million, possibly bringing an end to his time at Old Trafford.

Per France Football (h/t Daily Star's Luke Gardener), Januzaj has yet to agree to personal terms with La Real, with talks ongoing. Samuel Luckhurst of the Manchester Evening News reported the Red Devils are considering other offers as well, but the Basques are the favourites to land the Belgium international.

According to Tom Coast of Sport Witness, France Football reported there is a priority clause in the deal, giving United the right to match any offer La Real receive for his services for three years. Januzaj's entourage have already indicated they have no interest in returning, however.

As reported by Mundo Deportivo (h/t ESPN FC), Real Sociedad president Jokin Aperribay previously confirmed his club is interested in signing the Belgian.

The 22-year-old's career started with plenty of promise in 2013, when he was one of the few standout players under former United manager David Moyes.

He made his debut for Belgium's national team in 2014 and seemed destined for stardom, but as soon as Louis van Gaal replaced Moyes, the wheels started to come off.

Januzaj flopped on loan at Borussia Dortmund and didn't fare any better at Sunderland last season. Current manager Jose Mourinho has given no indication he's part of his plans for the future.

Given his age and the clear potential he still possesses, it's easy to see why a club like La Real would take a chance on Januzaj. Two previous changes of scenery didn't help him get out of his funk, but perhaps a spell in La Liga is exactly what the winger needs.
