Ice Cube Tells TMZ Chauncey Billups Is Leaving BIG3 Amid Cavaliers Rumors
Ice Cube may have unintentionally broken some major NBA news involving Chauncey Billups and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
In an interview with TMZ Sports, Ice Cube said Billups was leaving the BIG3 league, which will debut on June 24, for a job in the NBA:
ESPN's Dave McMenamin reported Tuesday that Billups interviewed with the Cavaliers for their vacant general manager job.
ESPN's Jeff Goodman added Wednesday that talks between Billups and Cavs owner Dan Gilbert were expected to continue. There hasn't been an official announcement by the team that Billups has been hired in any capacity.
Billups is currently on the roster of the Killer 3s team in the BIG3 league that is coached by Charles Oakley. The team's first game is scheduled for June 25 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
The Cavaliers announced Monday that current general manager David Griffin, whose contract expires June 30, would not be returning next season.
