Corey Seager Becomes 2nd-Youngest to Multiple 3-Homer Games
Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager went 4-for-5 with three home runs and a double during Tuesday's 12-0 blowout victory over the New York Mets. In doing so, he became the second-youngest player in MLB history at the time of his second three-homer game, per Elias Sports Bureau.
The youngest player to accrue two three-homer games is Boog Powell, who achieved the feat in 1964 at 22 years and 315 days old. Powell went on to become the American League MVP in 1970 while slashing .297/.412/.549 with 35 long shots.
Seager, a 23-year-old, won National League Rookie of the Year last season in addition to taking third place in MVP voting. He slashed .308/.365/.512 while hitting 26 bombs.

He hasn't displayed any less power this season, either. Through 70 appearances, Seager is slashing .293/.399/.506 with 12 homers.
Seager's patience at the plate has fueled his improved on-base percentage, which ranks eighth-best in the National League prior to Wednesday's contests. He's boasting an increased walk rate this season, up to 14.4 percent compared to last year's 7.9 percent.
Seager will attempt to continue his impressive campaign against the Mets during the third of a four-game set Wednesday. He and the Dodgers will oppose Tyler Pill on the mound, who sports an 0-2 record with a 3.75 ERA and 1.58 WHIP through four appearances (two starts).
