Alabama WR Robert Foster Hit by Car on Dirt Bike, Received 27 Stitches in Back
University of Alabama wide receiver Robert Foster needed 27 stitches in his back due to injuries suffered in an accident Saturday.
On Tuesday, Mark Heim of AL.com noted Foster said via Facebook he was hit by a car while riding his dirt bike.
247Sports' BamaOnLine reported the accident took place in the parking lot of the Mal M. Moore Athletic Facility on Alabama's campus. A source told the outlet the offensive playmaker is "expected to be fine" after recovering from the lacerations suffered in the crash.
Foster arrived to the Crimson Tide as a highly touted prospect in 2013. Scout.com ranked him as the No. 23 overall player in that year's recruiting class and the fourth-best receiver in the group.
He's so far failed to live up to that billing during his time in Tuscaloosa.
He's made 21 catches for 215 yards and two touchdowns across three years as a complementary piece of the offense. He caught just five passes last year in his return from a 2015 shoulder injury.
Alabama is scheduled to open the season with a marquee clash against the Florida State Seminoles on Sept. 2 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
