Here are the best booking options for Strowman vs. Reigns at the Raw-exclusive July 9 PPV.
Braun Strowman Stuns the World
When the ambulance appeared at the arena Monday night and Strowman popped out months ahead of his scheduled return, the WWE Universe finally got its monster among men back.
Now it's time for WWE Creative to give him the marquee victory needed to capitalize on the momentum. Instead of letting Reigns fight the winner of Brock Lesnar vs. Samoa Joe at SummerSlam, it should be Strowman.
Not only would giving Strowman the win at Great Balls of Fire help create a buzz around him in a likely matchup against Lesnar at the second-biggest show of the year for WWE, but it would also hold off Reigns vs. Lesnar until a later date, possibly even WrestleMania.
Plus, Reigns wouldn't have to take a pinfall to lose the match. He simply has to be thrown into an ambulance.
The WWE Universe was genuinely excited for Strowman's surprise return and the best way forward is to give him a statement-making win over Reigns in July and allow him to challenge the winner of Lesnar vs. Samoa Joe.
Roman Reigns Wins via a Fluke
Even if Reigns is booked to earn the victory at Great Balls of Fire, WWE Creative should be protecting its heel following a return that created a buzz. A Reigns victory must come via a fluke, such as Strowman falling off of a structure and through the roof of the ambulance.
Reigns will inevitably look strong during his match against Strowman in July, but it should be Strowman that eventually begins to tear The Big Dog apart and dominate. As Strowman goes to slam his foe on the roof of the ambulance, he could accidentally fall through, giving the victory to Reigns.
Letting Reigns win via a fluke gives company officials the victory they want for their hand-chosen Superstar, while also allowing Strowman to look like the unstoppable monster he was being portrayed as before his injury.
The last thing most wrestling fans want to see is Reigns challenge for the Universal Championship again, but it looks to be an inevitability now. The least we could hope for is an old-fashioned beatdown from Strowman in a fluke loss at Great Balls of Fire.
