Mercedes Cup 2017: Feliciano Lopez Shocks Tomas Berdych, Books Spot in Semis
There was a shock in the last eight at the 2017 Mercedes Open as No. 3 seed Tomas Berdych was defeated by Spaniard Feliciano Lopez in Stuttgart, Germany.
The 35-year-old reigned supreme as he won 6-7(4), 6-3, 6-4 to book a place in the semi-final on Friday.
Lucas Pouille joins Lopez in the final four as he beat Philipp Kohlschreiber, 6-4, 2-6, 6-3.

Tommy Haas is out of the competition after eliminating Roger Federer in the opening rounds, losing in straight sets to Mischa Zverev.
Benoit Paire defeated Jerzy Janowicz in the remaining quarter-final in straight sets.

Berdych was many peoples' favourite to win the title, but the star from the Czech Republic was overcome by Lopez.
The No. 3 seed edged the first set on a tiebreaker, but he collapsed in the following two, losing 6-3, 6-4.
Berdych was superior through the serve, hitting 21 aces, but the Spanish veteran crucially saved nine break points to deny his opponent space to attack.
Kohlschreiber was outclassed by Pouille, with the Frenchman winning the final set 6-3 after a brief comeback from the German.
The defeated player was in control during his service games, but Kohlschreiber failed to convert seven break-point opportunities.
Haas could not repeat his early success when he shocked Federer and slipped out of the tournament to Zverev, 6-4, 6-4.
Zverev smashed 16 aces as Haas failed to serve a single ace.
Paire completed the last four after beating Janowicz, 6-1, 7-6(4).
