A day after Capitol Police officer David Bailey risked his life to save others during a shooting at a congressional baseball practice, he made an appearance at Nationals Park to throw out the ceremonial first pitch ahead of the Congressional Baseball Game on Thursday.
As CNN's Pete Grieve explained, Bailey suffered a "minor injury" during the attack.
He made his way to the mound with the aid of crutches, and he received a loud ovation as he delivered the pitch.
