Tom Brady's Father Says Wife Galynn Has Finished Cancer Treatments

Adam WellsJun 13, 2017

Tom Brady Sr., the father of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, said Monday his wife Galynn has completed treatment for cancer.

In an interview with the Boston Globe's Christopher L. Gasper, Brady said his wife finished treatment two months ago and has been doing great ever since.

"She is doing great," he said. "She is getting out and playing golf and tennis and looks wonderful. I think in the dark recesses of every cancer survivor is the thought it could reappear. We simply pray now that after her treatment it never rears its ugly head again."

Albert Breer of The MMQB reported after the Patriots defeated the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl 51 that Brady's mother had been diagnosed with cancer 18 months earlier and had been going through radiation and chemotherapy during the 2016 NFL season.

Speaking about his mother following the Super Bowl, Brady said she was in good spirits.

"Mom's doing better," Brady told WEEI radio in Boston, via the New York Post's Zach Braziller. "Our prayers are with her. She's the best mom in the world. It was nice to win for her."

Galynn was in attendance at NRG Stadium in Houston for the Patriots' Super Bowl win, the only game she was able to see in person last season.
