Kevin Durant Has Tough Time Handling Alcohol After Warriors' NBA Finals Win

Andrew GouldJun 13, 2017

Kevin Durant secured his first career NBA championship Monday night, scoring an incredibly efficient 39 points in Game 5's 129-120 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. The series' undisputed MVP tallied more than 30 points in every game with a remarkable 55.6 field-goal percentage.

After making everything look easy on the court, he endured some awkward moments during the alcohol-infested celebration.

The 28-year-old tried to chug two beer cans a la WWE icon Stone Cold Steve Austin, courtesy of Twitter user MarcusD. He could not, however, open the beverages:

Upon finally opening the beer, he seemed to realize that he does not like Bud Light:

Durant instead turned to champagne, but that bottle was not easier to pop. NBA TV captured his difficulties:

He eventually cracked it, and during an NBA TV interview, courtesy of ABC Action News' John Sabol, Durant said he may have consumed too much after having a coughing fit on air:

Following the greatest accomplishment of his career, Durant explained his tipsiness to reporters, per ESPN's Rachel Nichols:

There's a solid chance he had a few more during the night's celebration. Hopefully he found something both enjoyable and easy to open.
