Hours before the start of Game 5 of the NBA Finals between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers at Oracle Arena, one fan decided to offer some advice to Golden State head coach Steve Kerr.
Per Golden State digital experience coordinator Brian Witt, a fan looking to help the Warriors clinch the NBA title Monday evening sent a fax addressed to Kerr earlier in the day.
Rather than merely offer best wishes or even ask for an autograph, the individual suggested the Warriors should use two-time reigning NBA MVP Stephen Curry as a decoy versus the Cavaliers in Game 5. The person went on to explain that Gen. George S. Patton used a similar strategy during World War II.
All is fair in love and basketball.
