Nike Unveils New Shoes in Honor of Rafael Nadal's 10th French Open Victory
Rafael Nadal defeated Stan Wawrinka in straight sets to win his 10th career French Open title Sunday. He also passed Pete Sampras with his 15th Grand Slam title, so Nike celebrated the King of Clay's triumph with a new pair of shoes.
Courtesy of Nike public relations director Heidi Burgett, the NikeCourt Tennis Classic El Decimo features an orange touch that resembles Roland Garros' iconic clay court. The kicks also commemorate Nadal's record dominance at the major with an "X" Roman numeral.
Nike praised its star on Twitter following the 31-year-old's first Grand Slam triumph since 2014:
According to a Nike news release, a limited number of pairs of the exclusive shoes will go on sale Monday exclusively at its Champs-Elysees location in Paris.
