FIFA 17 Ultimate Team: La Liga Team of the Season, Player Ratings Revealed

Tom SunderlandJun 8, 2017

Barcelona icon Lionel Messi and Real Madrid ace Cristiano Ronaldo headline FIFA 17 Ultimate Team's La Liga Team of the season lineup, boasting new in-form editions with 99 overall ratings in a star-studded end-of-year release.

EA Sports announced arguably the biggest in-form release of the game there's likely to be on Thursday, with the likes of Neymar, Luis Suarez, Toni Kroos, Antoine Griezmann and Marcelo also earning incredible boosts:

All cards released will be available from 6 p.m. BST, at which point those FUT 17 players seeking the best cards up for grabs will be scrambling to pack this who's who of Spain's top flight.

La Liga managers across the world will be smacking their lips at the prospect of picking just about any of the 23 players in the side, with the lowest-rated star an already impressive 88—Eibar's Pedro Leon and Las Palmas' Kevin-Prince Boateng.

In a rare turn of events, however, FutEconomist spotted Ronaldo's base stats had in fact decreased in comparison with the forward's Team of the Year release:

Such is the subtle difference for a player who already had a 99-rated card out this year, while team-mate's Sergio Ramos (95), Isco (96), Kroos (94) and Marcelo (92) have all climbed that bit closer.

Another Real star who grabbed the attention of FIFA streamer ChuBoi was a 93-rated Casemiro, whose only base stat below 91 is his pace, which is in itself acceptable for a defensive midfielder at 72:

Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak looks like a new beast in his 94-rated form, and team-mate Diego Godin will be nigh impenetrable after being improved to 96 overall, with defence and physical base stats of 98 and 96, respectively.

Many would agree that La Liga's best in-forms tend to be the most popular on FIFA, and Twitch streamer Danny predicted many will be rushing to snap up the new best and brightest of Spain's top tier:

League champions Real are the most heavily represented club in the TOTS with seven nominees, while Barcelona and Atletico follow in second and third with five and four players apiece, respectively.

With the club season at a close in Europe, these will take their place as some of the best cards on FIFA 17 Ultimate Team.
