Week 6 NFL Odds and Game Predictions

A battle of undefeated NFC squads highlights this week’s NFL slate. Here’s a breakdown of all 14 games:

Kansas City Chiefs (38) at Washington Redskins (-6.5)

An ugly matchup between a pair of clubs that covered a point spread for the first time last week. Washington’s only two wins of the season have been against winless squads St. Louis and Tampa Bay at home by a combined total of five points. Houston Texans (44.5) at Cincinnati Bengals (-4.5)

Houston fell a yard short of a win for the second time this season last week at Arizona. Since their tough opening loss to Denver, the Bengals have won four consecutive thrillers. However, this appears to be a major flat spot for Cincinnati after three straight divisional games. Look for the Texans to be the more inspired squad in this one.  Live Week 6 NFL Odds

Cleveland Browns (38) at Pittsburgh Steelers (-14)

Cleveland broke into the win column last week despite completing only two passes at Buffalo. The Steelers are back on track with two straight wins but the club is just 1-4 against the spread for the year. Baltimore Ravens (43.5) at Minnesota Vikings (-2.5) 

The Ravens have dropped a pair of close calls the last couple of weeks after a 3-0 start. Baltimore’s defense will provide the biggest challenge of the season to date for Brett Favre and the Vikings offense. With a strong defense of their own and the home crowd support, the Vikings should pull this one out to stay undefeated.  Live Week 6 NFL Odds

St. Louis Rams (41.5) at Jacksonville Jaguars (-10) 

The winless Rams are last in the league in points scored while ranking next to last in points allowed. A week after hammering Tennessee, the Jags were promptly defeated by 41 points in Seattle last week. The angry Jaguars are expected to rebound and overmatch the woeful Rams.  Live Week 6 NFL Odds

New York Giants (47) at New Orleans Saints (-3) 

In a potential preview of the NFC championship game, a pair of "unbeatens" will square off in the Superdome. The Giants have been an unbelievable road team dating back to their Super Bowl run in 2007. However, New Orleans has had two weeks to prepare for the biggest regular season game at the dome since the Saints first game back home after Hurricane Katrina in 2006. Carolina Panthers (-3) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (39.5) 

Carolina finally broke into the win column last week against Washington. The winless Bucs are still searching for answers after another blowout defeat last week. While Tampa Bay is rebuilding, the Panthers have a good opportunity to get back into the playoff chase with another win in week 6. Live Week 6 NFL Odds

Detroit Lions (48.5) at Green Bay Packers (-14) 

The Lions scored a late touchdown to cover against Pittsburgh last week. Green Bay can’t afford to stumble after a bye week. While the Lions are unlikely to end their 18-game losing streak (includes playoffs) at Green Bay, the Packers aren’t playing well enough to back them in this role. Live Week 6 NFL Odds

Philadelphia Eagles (-14) at Oakland Raiders (40.5) 

With Donovan McNabb back under center, the Eagles appear ready to take off with the heart of the season approaching. The Raiders are a train wreck after another debacle last week. With plenty of empty seats in Oakland, the Eagles may well dominate against the hapless Raiders. Live Week 6 NFL Odds

Arizona Cardinals (47) at Seattle Seahawks (-2.5) 

A key matchup in the NFC West. The Cards are still looking for consistency after nearly blowing a 21-point lead to Houston last week. The Seahawks have delivered a pair of home shutouts when QB Matt Hasselbeck has been healthy. They are 0-3 when he hasn’t played or has been injured in a game. Buffalo Bills at New York Jets 

The Bills sunk to a new low in last week’s home defeat to the Browns. Now, Buffalo’s struggling offense must deal with the attacking Jets defense on the road. However, New York will be coming off of a short week after facing the Dolphins in Miami on Monday. Tennessee Titans (43) at New England Patriots (-9) 

Any hopes of new life for the Titans were dashed in another lackluster effort against the Colts last week. At 0-5, Tennessee is already looking towards next year. The Patriots are just 1-4 against the point spread but New England has plenty to play for at 3-2. Chicago Bears (46) at Atlanta Falcons (-3) 

A matchup of 3-1 NFC playoff contenders. With QB Jay Cutler developing a rhythm, the Bears have won three straight. Atlanta has plenty of confidence after last year’s surprise turnaround. Denver Broncos (43.5) at San Diego Chargers (-3.5) 

Denver’s magical run could finally hit a roadblock on Monday. The 2-2 Chargers have had two weeks to prepare for the upstart Broncos. With a loss, San Diego will be 3.5 games behind Denver in the AFC West.
