Pittsburgh Penguins center Nick Bonino will not play in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Nashville Predators due to a lower-body injury, according to NHL.com's Dan Rosen.

Bonino was spotted entering the arena on crutches with a boot on after he took a slap shot to the foot in Game 2.

Bonino was initially listed as day-to-day, but it became clear he likely wasn't going to suit up for Game 3 when he was absent for the team's morning skate on Saturday, according to Pens Inside Scoop.

A staple of the Penguins' penalty kill, Bonino is a steady defensive center who has provided key supplementary goal-scoring all year long. In 80 regular-season games, Bonino racked up 18 goals and 19 assists.

Through 21 postseason games, the 29-year-old has posted four goals and three assists. He's also blocked 29 even-strength shots and been a positive (+4) in the plus/minus column.
