WWE Hall of Famer Harley Race Breaks Legs in Fall, Undergoes Surgery on Injuries

WWE announced Saturday that WWE Hall of Famer Harley Race broke both his legs in a fall at his home Tuesday.

According to WWE.com, Race underwent emergency surgery Tuesday followed by four blood transfusions and an additional surgery Friday.

He broke both the fibula and tibia in his left leg and fractured his right femur. Race also sustained a spiral break of his left ankle.

The 74-year-old Missouri native debuted as a professional wrestler in 1960 and competed in the ring for more than three decades.

He is a seven-time NWA World Heavyweight champion and is known as one of the toughest competitors in the history of the business.

Race enjoyed a stint with the World Wrestling Federation (now WWE) from 1986 through 1989, during which time he became the second King of the Ring in the company's history.

He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004 and is also a member of the NWA Hall of Fame and Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame.
