'The Mountain' from 'Game of Thrones' Loses World's Strongest Man Title by 1 Rep

Andrew GouldMay 30, 2017

Britain's Eddie Hall narrowly edged out Hafthor Bjornsson, more commonly known as "The Mountain" from Game of Thrones, to win this year's World's Strongest Man competition

Bjornsson, who plays Ser Gregor Clegane on the hit HBO show, finished one rep shy of "The Beast" Hall. He nearly tied his opponent in the Viking press, but officials deducted one rep, ruling that he "double dipped" his knees.

Per Uproxx's Jason Nawara, the runner-up initially wrote "I was robbed" in an Instagram post he since deleted. He later softened his stance with a longer, more nuanced reaction to the shortcoming.
