Jonas Jerebko, Jazz Agree to Reported 2-Year, $8.2 Million Contract

The Utah Jazz bolstered their frontcourt rotation after agreeing to terms with free-agent forward Jonas Jerebko.

The Jazz announced the deal on Monday after ESPN.com's Adrian Wojnarowski reported on July 12 the two sides agreed to a two-year, $8.2 million deal. 

This comes after Jerebko averaged 3.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 0.9 assists in 15.8 minutes per game for the Boston Celtics in 2016-17.

The 2009 second-round pick from Sweden averaged a career-high 9.3 points and 6.0 rebounds per game for the Detroit Pistons as a rookie, earning All-Rookie Second Team honors.

The Pistons traded him and Luigi Datome to the Celtics in February 2015 for Tayshaun Prince.

Despite not averaging over 20 minutes per night since 2011-12, Jerebko can be productive thanks to his 6'10" size and three-point range (34.6 percent in 2016-17, 39.8 percent in 2015-16).

Jerebko found his footing in the Eastern Conference Finals with 10 points in just 13 minutes in the Celtics' Game 3 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers. It turned out to be Boston's only win of the series.

The 30-year-old will see time in Utah's frontcourt, which is comprised of Joel Bolomboy, Tony Bradley, Derrick Favors, Rudy Gobert and Ekpe Udoh.
