Seattle Councilmember Asks Seahawks to Sign Colin Kaepernick as Backup QB

A Seattle city councilmember is campaigning for Colin Kaepernick to join the Seahawks. 

In an open letter, Kshama Sawant urged Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll and owner Paul Allen to consider signing Kaepernick as a backup QB. 

Sawant stressed her belief that the only reason Kaepernick hasn't been picked up as a free agent is because of "the backlash against his courageous leadership...against racism, brutality, and discrimination."

She feels that as a progressive city, Seattle could only benefit from his presence.
