Miguel Cabrera Suffers Hip Injury During Giants vs. Tigers
Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera left Tuesday's game against San Francisco Giants in the seventh inning due to hip tightness.ย
Cabrera, 34, flew out to center field during his at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. He was 1-for-3 with a run scored before the injury and was replaced by Andrew Romine.
The 2017 season has been a bit of a disappointment for Cabrera, who has struggled with injuries and ineffectiveness at the plate. He previously spent time on the disabled list with a back injury and missed time with an oblique strain in May.

When he's been on the field, Cabrera has been nowhere near as effective as his MVP-winning seasons. He entered Tuesday hitting .263/.357/.451 with 11 home runs and 39 runs batted in.ย
This latest injury won't do Cabrera any favors as he tries to get out of this funk and avoid having the worst season of his Tigers career.
