Tom Brady Plays as Packers and Seahawks in Madden vs. Son as Patriots

Andrew GouldMay 13, 2017

Tom Brady will grace the cover of this year's Madden 18. As he embarks on his quest to break the video game's apparent curse, the New England Patriots quarterback revealed he plays as two of his rivals.

In an interview with ESPN.com's Ian O'Connor, Brady said he has to select another team when his son Jack chooses the Pats. The elder Brady said his preferred alternatives were the Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks.

"I don't like doing it," he said. "It does feel weird. I feel like I'm going up against my own guys that I love. Julian [Edelman] catches a pass, and I've got to tackle him. I've been Green Bay, because I like that offense. And I've been Seattle, because I love being that defense."

Nobody can blame Jack for wanting to emulate his dad, especially since Tom has a 96 rating in Madden 17, only second to Aaron Rodgers. To combat the challenge of defending himself, Brady is wise to turn to the Legion of Boom, even if it couldn't contain him in Super Bowl XLIX.

After leading New England to its fifth Super Bowl title, the two-time NFL MVP will have a tough time convincing his kid to find a new Madden squad.
