Dez Bryant Drives to Wrong Park for Cowboys' Home Run Derby Charity Event

Andrew GouldMay 9, 2017

The Dallas Cowboys held their sixth annual Reliant Home Run Derby charity event on Monday night. Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, Jason Witten and Sean Lee were among the participants at Dr Pepper Ballpark, home of the Texas Rangers' Double-A minor league affiliate.

Dez Bryant eventually joined the party in Frisco, Texas, but not until after the contest. According to Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News, the star wideout drove to Globe Life Park in Arlington, some 35 miles away, instead.

In Bryant's defense, the Rangers' major league venue hosted the event when he attended three years ago.

"Y'all don't kill me too much," Bryant told reporters, per Machota. "My son has already killed me. I was ready to go back to the house. He was like, 'Daddy, Witten's kids are there. I want to go.'"

Head coach Jason Garrett edged out Witten to capture his second derby crown. The group collectively raised $50,000 for the Salvation Army.

Some of the players also paired off in a three-legged race won by safeties Byron Jones and Jeff Heath:
