Doc Rivers Gives Paul Pierce a Wheelchair as a Retirement Gift

Doc Rivers had jokes when it came to Paul Pierce's exit from the NBA. 

While appearing on TNT's Area 21, Rivers gifted Pierce with a wheelchair to celebrate his retirement. 

If you recall, Pierce famously rode in a wheelchair after leaving the game during Game 1 of the 2008 NBA Finals under somewhat mysterious circumstances, launching years of internet lore and conspiracy theories. 

Clearly, Rivers wanted to conjure up the old joke for Pierce's last hurrah in the league, which Pierce took in good humor.
