Back from the Dead? MMA Fighter Recovers from Apparent Knockout, Shocks Opponent

Never turn your back on an opponent.

Heavyweight MMA fighter Scott Hope received a hard reminder on that front Saturday, when his opponent returned from seeming oblivion to resume the fight.

During the broadcast on Flo Combat, featuring fighters from the Valor Fights and Warrior FC regional promotions (h/t Champions MMA), Hope dropped Doug Williams with a one-two combination. Wiliams hit the ground hard and appeared to be unconscious. Hope walked away with hands raised in celebration.

But Williams was not ready to wander into that good night. He rose up and grabbed Hope from behind in an attempt to initiate the clinch or a takedown or something. 

As dramatic as it was, Hope went on to secure the choke and finish the job. But not before some unexpected drama—and toughness—from a beyond-game opponent in Williams. How do these guys do this stuff?
