Brian Westbrook Responds to Drew Pearson at Start of Day 3 of 2017 NFL Draft
Former Philadelphia Eagles running back Brian Westbrook took to the podium Saturday to kick off the third day of the 2017 NFL draft in the City of Brotherly Love, and in the process, he responded to the trolling former Dallas Cowboys wideout Drew Pearson did a day prior:
Pearson, who announced the Cowboys' second-round pick, basked in the glow of boos raining on him from the Philadelphia crowd. He antagonized the fans into booing louder with references to the Cowboys' past successes over their NFC East rivals, including the team's five Super Bowl wins.
Westbrook played for the Eagles from 2002 to 2009, earning two Pro Bowl berths as one of the league's most versatile backs.
Pearson played his entire 11-year career for the Cowboys from 1973-1983. He was a three-time Pro Bowler and earned a ring as a member of the Super Bowl XII championship team.
Pearson hails from South River, New Jersey—about an hour drive from Philadelphia. Suffice it to say, he knew what he was getting into when he stepped to the podium. This stuff is all in good fun and is part of what has made Philly a successful draft host this weekend.
