NFL Draft Start Time 2017: Round 1 TV Schedule, Live Stream and More

Michelle BrutonApr 27, 2017

After a yearlong wait, the NFL draft is finally upon us once again.

By now, even die-hard draft buffs are sure to be growing weary of mock drafts and speculation. But fear not: By Saturday evening, we'll finally know where the 256 prospects in this year's class are headed for training camp this summer.

The 82nd annual NFL draft will be held in Philadelphia from an outdoor theater on the Rocky Steps. This will be the first time the NFL draft in its entirety will take place outdoors, per Julia Terruso of Philly.com.

TV Schedule

Draft Order

The Cleveland Browns, New Orleans Saints and Tennessee Titans possess two first-round picks apiece, which should make for some exciting trade scenarios.

By contrast, the Los Angeles Rams, Minnesota Vikings and New England Patriots have no selections in Round 1. In fact, the Patriots don't have a selection until the third round.

Notable Prospects Projected to be Drafted in Round 1

Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett is the consensus top player in this year's draft class, and the Browns hold the No. 1 overall pick.

Ergo, you'd think that simple math adds up: Cleveland drafts Garrett.

But not so fast.

ESPN's Adam Schefter continues to share information that the Browns aren't set on Garrett at No. 1 and remain interested in selecting North Carolina quarterback Mitchell Trubisky

There's always a possibility the Browns are just putting up a smokescreen and trying to scare teams that pick in, say, the top five that are themselves interested in Trubisky to trade up with them to ensure they land the quarterback.

But we've all seen Cleveland make questionable decisions in past NFL drafts, so anything is possible for that franchise when the clock starts ticking on Thursday evening.

Speaking of selections within the top five, the Titans, who own the No. 5 overall pick, have already received trade offers and are mulling them over, also according to Schefter:

The Titans also hold the 18th overall pick, so they could end up swapping first-round picks with their potential trade partner, as well as picking up anything from an additional second- to fourth-round selection depending on how far their partner wants to move up.

Who could be looking to move up into the top five? Perhaps it's a team looking to land Trubisky, fellow quarterback prospect Deshaun Watson out of Clemson or even LSU running back Leonard Fournette.

Perhaps that's how the Browns plan to land Garrett and Trubisky; they could give up their No. 12 pick, as well as one of their second-rounders.

Though most NFL teams seem to have Trubisky and Watson atop their draft boards, up to four quarterbacks could be selected on Day 1.

Lots of analysts are high on Texas Tech signal-caller Patrick Mahomes. In fact, on his QB Camp show, Jon Gruden said that Mahomes is his No. 1 quarterback in this class.

With three teams holding two first-round selections, we're almost guaranteed to see some big trades go down on Thursday evening.
