The Washington product was the last person left in the green room who returned on Day 2 after not being drafted in the first round. This clearly didn't break his confidence:

Social media took the time to offer its thoughts on the selection:

King was one of the top risers in the draft process after being overshadowed through much of his college career by All-American teammates Sidney Jones and Budda Baker. However, his combination of size and athleticism could make him the best NFL prospect of the bunch.

The 6'3", 200-pound corner turned heads at the scouting combine in Indianapolis with a 40-yard-dash time of 4.43 seconds. He put his foot speed on display by leading all players at his position in the three-cone drill (6.56) and both shuttle runs. His 39.5-inch vertical jump ranked second in his group.

While the physical tools are impressive, perhaps what really separates him is his versatility in the secondary.

King spent time as a safety, an outside cornerback and a nickel cornerback during his college career and could move to any of those spots in the pros.

"Really, there's not a position on the back end that he can't play," Washington co-defensive coordinator Jimmy Lake said, per Lindsay Schnell of Sports Illustrated.

Despite the upside, King is far from a sure thing. He benefited from talented players around him, which often took the pressure off him. He also tallied only six interceptions in four seasons with the Huskies.

The Packers might bring him along slowly, though they don't necessarily have the luxury of doing so. Their passing defense finished last season tied for 29th in touchdowns allowed (32) and ranked 31st in yards allowed (4,308).

In a deep class of cornerbacks and safeties, King could end up being the best of the bunch. The Packers were able to steal him with the first pick of the second round to boost an obvious area of need.
