A.J. McKee Dusts Dominic Mazzotta with a Head Kick KO at Bellator 178

Nathan McCarterApr 21, 2017

A.J. McKee has been heralded as a top MMA prospect since before his MMA debut in 2015. The son of Antonio McKee was seen as part of the future of the featherweight division.

After a hot 5-0 start with five finishes, all in Bellator, the hype seemed to cool to a touch following back-to-back decisions as Bellator begun to slowly ramp up the competition. McKee reignited the hype train's engine on Friday at Bellator 178 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.

75 seconds would be all that McKee needed to stop Dominic Mazzotta's nine-fight win streak.

A left high kick stiffened up Mazzotta and sent him to the canvas in a heap. McKee landed an unnecessary hammerfist to put an exclamation point on the knockout.

Mazzotta dropped to 12-2 and McKee improved his perfect record to 8-0.

McKee hit the mic after the fight to seemingly call out James Gallagher for his next fight. After a 75-second head kick KO, McKee can pretty much call his shot. Gallagher should get ready.
