
18 Alcorn State Football Players Charged with Misdemeanors After Campus Brawl
Authorities charged seven more football players from the Alcorn State Braves with misdemeanors Thursday, bringing the total number of players charged to 18, the Clarion-Ledger's Tyler Cleveland reported.
Cleveland reported Wednesday 11 players were initially arrested in connection with an on-campus brawl last week.

The university released a statement about the incident, per ESPN.com: "Maintaining a safe and secure campus community is the institution's top priority. Campus police investigate all instances of student misconduct thoroughly and appropriate disciplinary actions are implemented in accordance with Alcorn's student code of conduct."
Cleveland reported the charges "range from malicious mischief to simple assault."
