Kimbo Slice Just Lays There
September 30th, 2009--I could not believe what I saw; Roy Nelson takes Kimbo Slice down to the mat, crucifixes him, then taps Slice on the forehead until Herb Deanstopped the fight. I thought Nelson was afraid of hurting Kimbo, and that was why the love taps. I am serious; those strikes were not the type of blows that are intended to hurt an opponent. He was tapping for points until the ref stops the fight, and it worked. Nelson's strategy was to take down Kimbo if Kimbo was doing alright standing, which he was. Nelson easily took him down, despite the year under the tutelage of Bas Rutten; despite all the help and leadership, coaching from everyone interested in Kimbo. How could he forget all that training so quickly. He can punch hard and he is very good at boxing, for a guy with limited training, most of which he learned by fighting on the streets (backyards). How can he forget all that mat training. Everything Rampageshowed him. They tried to make everything second nature for Kimbo, yet when Nelson took Kimbo down, he just laid there, absolutely doing nothing to get out of his predicament. He just laid there. It reminded me of a dear in the headlights. I was so disappointed in him, I was sick! How can one forget everything he was taught? I can understand some things he didn't train as much in, but the whole package? Got me sick! He should have swung like a crazy man, every time Nelson lowered his shoulders. He should have continued to strike Nelson, until Nelson was on his back, but what did he do? just laid there. I could have died that night.
