4-Star WR Prospect Marquez Ezzard Commits to FSU over Georgia
Wide receiver Marquez Ezzard has made the 2018 recruiting class for the Florida State Seminoles much better.
On Friday, the Tallahassee Democrat's Wayne E McGahee III reported Ezzard committed to play college football for FSU.
A Georgia native, Ezzard is one of the best offensive playmakers in the 2018 recruiting class. He's rated as a 4-star prospect, the No. 2 wide receiver from his home state, No. 40 WR recruit in the country and No. 214 recruit overall, per Scout.com.
Beyond the recruiting rankings, Ezzard's scouting report on Scout.com paints the picture of a wide receiver who will blossom into one of the best in college football soon:
"Ezzard is a tough, physical wide receiver. He is strong, he will attack the football and he makes good adjustments. When receiving the ball, he does a good job with his hands and snatching it out of the air. He is a reliable, dependable receiver and he could be that go-to guy on the next level. His speed is good, but he can improve his separation and top-end speed down the field.
"
Considering Ezzard is from SEC country, it's a surprise not to see him stay in Georgia.
With Georgia and Georgia Tech also in the mix for Ezzard, it's a testament to FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher and his staff's ability to pull in recruits from any part of the country.
Fighting the SEC for prized recruits is one of the most difficult tasks in college football, yet Fisher makes it look boring because of how consistently great he is at it.
To be successful in the ACC and compete for national championships, building a roster filled with high-ceiling depth is essential.
In Ezzard, the Seminoles snagged one of the top pass-catching talents in the class of 2018, and one who should help their offense maintain an explosive status in the years ahead.
