Browns CB Joe Haden Says He Would Pick Myles Garrett No. 1 in 2017 NFL Draft

Adam WellsApr 18, 2017

If the Cleveland Browns want to seek out additional help when they make the first pick in the 2017 NFL draft, cornerback Joe Haden is going all-in on Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett.

"Watching him [Garrett] on tape, I just feel like he'll be an immediate-impact player, and I just feel like he'll be a guy that we could have rushing the passer for years to come," Haden said, per ESPN's Pat McManamon.

After making it known he would take Garrett with the first pick, Haden added "don't get me in trouble though."

The Browns are reportedly split on who they will take with their top choice on April 27. ESPN's Adam Schefter noted one NFL executive said "don't be surprised if Myles Garrett isn't the No. 1 pick" and that a quarterback was in the conversation at No. 1 overall.

Garrett is almost universally considered the best player in this year's draft class, though. B/R's Matt Miller had one NFL general manager tell him the Texas A&M star has pulled away from his competition this year in the way Andrew Luck did leading up to the 2012 draft.
