Liverpool Transfer News: Latest Lorenzo Insigne Rumours Before Summer Window
Liverpool are reportedly monitoring Napoli's Lorenzo Insigne, but the Serie A outfit are close to handing him a lucrative new deal.
According to Claudio Colla of Transfermarketweb.com, the winger is on the verge of signing a new deal worth €4.5 million (£3.8 million) per year, which will extend his stay with Napoli from 2019 until 2022.
Despite that, the Reds have not yet given up hope of signing him, and he is also attracting interest from AC Milan and AS Roma.

The 25-year-old enjoyed perhaps the best season of his career last year as he racked up 13 goals and 11 assists in all competitions, and he's followed that up with an even stronger campaign this time around with 16 and 10, respectively.
Per Napoli's official Twitter feed, Insigne has been one of several key performers for the Partenopei:
Liverpool already have a strong front three comprised of Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane, who possess great chemistry with one another as well as pace, creativity and the threat of goals.
The Reds will likely have European football to contend with next year, though, so another player of similar ability to rotate with the trio would be a strong addition.
Insigne compares well with the Liverpool triumvirate, per Squawka:
| Apps | 31 | 31 | 26 | 27 |
| Minutes | 2,393 | 2,714 | 1,859 | 2,242 |
| Goals | 14 | 11 | 9 | 13 |
| Assists | 7 | 6 | 6 | 5 |
| Chances Created | 55 | 68 | 56 | 43 |
| Take-Ons | 37 | 61 | 55 | 67 |

While he ostensibly plays on the left, Insigne has provided cover on the right and centrally—both up front and in a deeper role—during his time with Napoli, so he could fit in well among Liverpool's forwards.
Technically adept with intelligent movement, the diminutive Italian could make for a fine signing for the Reds.
Here's a look at some of his highlights this season:
However, Gianluca Di Marzio's David Amoyal fully expects him to stay put with his hometown club:
Napoli seem intent on getting his future squared away before the summer transfer window opens—a smart move, particularly if there's also interest from the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal.
Unless the Reds' interest in the player quickly becomes more concrete and is enough to tempt him into leaving, it seems they will need to look elsewhere to strengthen ahead of next season.
