Breiden Fehoko to Transfer to LSU over Auburn and Georgia
April 17, 2017
Former Texas Tech defensive tackle Breiden Fehoko announced on Monday that he would be transferring to LSU.
Fehoko had taken official visits with Auburn, Louisville, LSU and Georgia, according toĀ Chris HummerĀ of 247Sports.
"He's the big, strong interior defender that everyone can use," 247Sports director of scouting Barton Simmons told Hummer. "There's only so many guys that have his frame who can move in the world. Fehoko is powerful and athletic and can really occupy blockers on the line of scrimmage."
He won't be occupying any blockers in 2017 because he'll need to sit for one season before he's eligible to play for LSU. He will still have two years of eligibility, however.
Fehoko was an impact performer for Texas Tech, starting allĀ 25 games and registering 38 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss and two sacks in his first two seasons. And with the NFL on his radar,Ā Fehoko toldĀ Kipp AdamsĀ
"...I just wanted to see how I could make their program better and how they would help me reach my ultimate goal of making it to the NFL," he said. "I wanted to see how I would be developedāI played in the Big 12 and wanted to play in the SEC. This redshirt year will be big for me before the 2018 season so I just want to see how much development I would get as a player."
Clearly, he felt LSU was the best program to advance that goal.
