PSG Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Isco and Mahamadou Dembele

Christopher SimpsonApr 17, 2017

Paris Saint-Germain are interested in Real Madrid midfielder Isco and are "ready to pounce" on the Spaniard if he leaves in the summer.

That's according to French outlet L'Equipe (h/t Football Whispers' Andrew Gibney, via Sky Sports).

Isco has made 34 appearances for Los Blancos this season but has played a total of just 1,780 minutes—an average of just 52 minutes per outing, and he has completed 90 minutes on only five occasions. He has also only played 77 minutes in the UEFA Champions League.

With a little over one year left on his deal at Madrid, speculation about the playmaker's future is understandably rife.

Despite his relative lack of game time, the 24-year-old has managed to score nine goals and produce five assists in La Liga this term, including a brace as Real came from behind to beat Sporting Gijon 3-2 on Saturday.

ESPN FC's Dermot Corrigan hailed his technique as he struck the 90th-minute winner:

According to La Liga writer Andrew Gaffney, Isco's performance warranted the goals and the result:

The Spaniard would be an upgrade on Javier Pastore, and the prospect of him lining up alongside Angel Di Maria, Julian Draxler and Edinson Cavani in PSG's attack is mouthwatering.

Against the slightly lower calibre of defence typically found in Ligue 1, Isco could shine.

However, he has little intention of leaving the Santiago Bernabeu:

With the player himself determined to stay put and his performances warranting a new deal, it seems more than likely he'll soon put pen to paper on a contract to remain with Real rather than leave in the summer. But if he does, then PSG will be a tempting prospect.

Meanwhile, L'Equipe (h/t TalkSport) also reported PSG youngster Mahamadou Dembele is set to sign a contract with the French champions, turning down interest from Liverpool.

Per football writer Jack Sear, the newspaper had previously linked the Reds with the 18-year-old:

Dembele is expected to sign his first professional deal with PSG "in the coming weeks."
