Bayern Munich Transfer News: Latest on Marco Verratti, Kyle Walker Rumours
Marco Verratti has been named as Bayern Munich's top transfer target this summer, according to reports in Germany. The Bundesliga club is said to believe the presence of manager Carlo Ancelotti can help sway Verratti to leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season.
German publication Bild (h/t Calciomercato.com) says "Verratti is the main objective of Ancelotti for next summer's transfer window."
However, the same reports also revealed how quite a queue of top clubs from around Europe are also keen on Verratti, with Serie A duo Juventus and Inter Milan named along with La Liga giants Barcelona as interested suitors.

Yet Bayern believe they have the inside track thanks to Ancelotti: "With Xabi Alonso and Lahm potentially leaving the club this summer, Bayern Munich will be looking to inject more talent within their roster. The plan is to act quick and use Ancelotti's presence to try and attract Verratti."

Trusting Ancelotti to give them the inside track is a smart move from Bayern. After all, it was the Italian strategist who brought Verratti to Paris from Pescara in 2012.
Ancelotti showed faith in the youthful schemer and initially oversaw his development into one of the most accomplished playmakers on the continent. Verratti continues to be the conductor of PSG's passing, supplying six assists in Ligue 1 and UEFA Champions League action this season, per WhoScored.com.
Even so, the 24-year-old Azzurri star is reportedly considering leaving PSG. In fact, French source Le Parisien (h/t TalkSport.com) recently indicated Verratti will quit the Ligue 1 club unless the board invests in some star power to help compete in the Champions League.
Verratti would certainly fit well at Bayern. Not only does he know Ancelotti, he also boasts the vision, technique and forward-thinking instincts to create chances the way current Munich maestro Thiago Alcantara does.
Yet there is another side to Verratti's game, one based on tenacity and discipline. Thanks to these qualities, he is also able to dictate games from deep.
Reuniting with Verratti would be a major coup for three-time Champions League winner Ancelotti.
Tottenham Hotspur Full-Back on Bayern's Radar
One surprise name linked with a transfer to Munich is Tottenham Hotspur full-back Kyle Walker. The England international is on Bayern's radar, according to Transfermarketweb (h/t Sam Maguire at Football Whispers, via ESPN FC).

Maguire asks the question "can anybody really say no to Bayern?" It's a worthy question and one Walker may have to answer because he may not be such a surprise target after all.
First, there is the fact Philipp Lahm is retiring at the end of the season, leaving a hole at full-back. The situation hasn't been helped by Juan Bernat's struggles with injuries and form.
Like Bernat, Walker boasts the pace and engine to tirelessly raid the flanks and recover defensively. Speaking of his defensive nous, Walker has made strides in this area during recent seasons.
Moving to Bayern would be a big step up for the Tottenham man. However, Walker has developed enough to the point where he may be ready for such a move.

Yet prying Walker away form White Hart Lane won't be easy, not after he signed a contract extension slated to run five years back in September. Still, Spurs may be prepared to let Walker go thanks to the presence of the equally talented Kieran Trippier.
There is no doubting Verratti's ability to thrive in Munich. He would make an already talented squad an even greater force in Europe provided Ancelotti could swing a deal.
