According to Get French Football News, it was the last thing the home team needed:
Per Get French Football News, the Lyon players refused to return to the pitch following the incident. Shortly after, however, it was announced the match would be played as regularly scheduled.
At the end of the first half, Lyon were attacked a second time by Bastia supporters, via OL-Plus:
At that point, the match was abandoned, per ESPN FC, with the LFP issuing a statement on the decision:
"Following the incident at the end of the first period, the LFP decided to stop SC Bastia-Olympique Lyonnais.
Following the very serious incidents that occurred during the warm-up, the DDSP [Departmental Director of Public Security] had decided to play the game but to stop it at the slightest incident.
The LFP condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the incidents which occurred.
"
Bastia have endured a rough season in France and currently sit in last place in the standings, three points behind Nancy, the first club above the relegation zone. Les Bleus do have a match in hand on their direct rivals, but Lyon are heavily favoured in the fixture as they're battling for a UEFA Europa League ticket.
The incident follows just days after the Europa League match between Lyon and Besiktas was delayed following violence in the stands and players storming the pitch to escape, per Liam Prenderville and Alex Richards of the Daily Mirror.
