Manchester City Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Vincent Kompany, Alexis Sanchez
Everton and West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing Manchester City skipper Vincent Kompany in the summer.
According to Steve Bates of the Sunday Mirror, there are doubts at the Etihad Stadium as to whether Kompany has a future at the club, despite his recent return to fitness. Should they opt to cash in, the Toffees and the Hammers are said to be ready to snap him up.
The 31-year-old has struggled to overcome a succession of injury problems in recent seasons, meaning he's been limited to a meagre four starts in the Premier League so far this term.

In his most recent outing, Kompany scored the opener for City in a 3-0 win over Southampton. Per Sky Sports Statto, the goal has been a long time coming for the Belgian:
The work does Kompany at the back is what makes City such a better side, though. The veteran is so committed and aggressive in his defensive play, dominating one-on-one battles. There's a grace about the manner in which he distributes, too, something that'll undoubtedly appeal to Guardiola.
As a leader, there are few better in the English game. While the manager is seeking to build a team bristling with young talent, having experience and authority in the form of a player like Kompany is so crucial, too.

BT Sport commentator Ian Darke commented on how much more secure City look with Kompany around:
Of course, there is a huge issue with the player's fitness, and with that in mind, if there was an offer in the summer, City would surely consider it given his injury record.
The challenge for Kompany must be to prove between now and the end of the campaign that he can be relied upon. City remain in the hunt for a top-four finish and are also in the semi-final of the FA Cup against Arsenal next weekend. A full-strength skipper can be an asset in pursuit of both goals.
Latest Alexis Sanchez Rumours

Arsenal's stubborn stance on Alexis Sanchez's contract is said to be pushing the player close to a move to Manchester City.
That's according to James Robson of the Manchester Evening News, who has reported that Sanchez favours a move to the Etihad Stadium, with Manchester United and Chelsea also said to be interested in him.
As noted in the report, although Sanchez's contract at the Emirates Stadium is set to expire in 2018, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has insisted the club will not break their wage structure to keep him around.
"Given Guardiola's admiration of the forward he signed for Barcelona, club chiefs acknowledged that they had to explore the possibility of bringing him to the Etihad," Robson added.

Although things have turned a little sour as of late, Sanchez has been a big hit at Arsenal since arriving in 2014, and even this term, he's netted 18 goals and grabbed nine assists in league matches. While City have a plethora of attacking options, football journalist Shane Burns can see why Guardiola would be keen on the player:
"City fans question why Pep would want Alexis. Well, Navas and Nolito have proven themselves to be worthless. And injury and we're in trouble
— Shane Burns (@MediaShaneBurns) April 11, 2017"
As of late, Leroy Sane, Sergio Aguero and Raheem Sterling have been supreme in the final third for City. Add Sanchez into the mix, along with the currently injured Gabriel Jesus, and City would have one of the best attacking setups in Europe.
According to Robson, if Sanchez doesn't sign a new deal, he will be sold in the upcoming window. It seems as though City will be ready to strike if he's on the market.
