Manchester City Transfer News: Joe Hart Loan Extension at Torino, Latest Rumours

Alex KebleApr 12, 2017

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart could be set for an extended stay at Torino, who have asked to renew his loan deal at the club for another season, per Tuttosport (via Football Italia).

The England international has impressed during his time in Serie A, but Hart may be more inclined to make a permanent move away from the Etihad this summer. Torino are unlikely to be able to afford such a deal, per Football Italia.

The 29-year-old has made 29 league appearances for Torino, who sit 10th in Serie A. Although the club's president Urbano Cairo recently said Hart would be "happy to stay in Turin," per Nick Lustig for Sky Sports, he may find alternative options more attractive this summer.

Hart is also wanted by Liverpool, per TalkSport's Micky Quinn, while Arsenal are also interested in his services, per Kieran Gill for the Daily Mail.

What's more, City may prefer a permanent deal with a prospective buyer since Hart clearly does not have a future at the club. Pep Guardiola is hoping to receive £20 million for the England goalkeeper, per Paul Hirst for The Times.

It's set to be a busy summer for Guardiola as he looks to strengthen in several key areas, which may mean City are keen to cash in on Hart sooner rather than later.

AS Monaco's highly rated left-back Benjamin Mendy has emerged as one of their top targets, although Guardiola will have to fend off interest from the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea, per Lyall Thomas for Sky Sports.

Alexis Sanchez is another player on Guardiola's radar, and he could move to Manchester in a player-exchange deal involving Sergio Aguero, according to James Robson for Manchester Evening News

Clearly City are expecting to make some major changes to their squad once the season ends, with Hart's future one of many things yet to be decided. With several wealthy English clubs said to be monitoring the 29-year-old, it is perhaps unsurprising that Torino have reportedly made an early inquiry.
