Neymar Reportedly Seeks Advice from Psychologist over On-Pitch Behaviour
Barcelona forward Neymar has reportedly sought advice from a psychologist in an attempt to tame his on-field temper.
That’s according to UOL Esporte (h/t Sport), where it’s suggested the Brazilian international has got in touch with Joaquin Valdes, psychologist to Blaugrana manager Luis Enrique, following his red card against Malaga on Saturday.
Per Sport, Enrique has said in the past that Valdes "is for me, not for the players," although it’s reported that he has taken on Neymar’s request.

The Brazilian lost his cool as Barcelona toiled against Malaga in a match they eventually lost 2-0. After picking up a yellow card for dissent, frustration built, and he launched into a late tackle on an opponent to earn his second booking. Then Neymar proceeded to sarcastically applaud the match official.

As reported by Ed Malyon of The Independent, the last action may see Neymar hit with a ban of an additional game, and subsequently, he may miss the Clasico showdown with Real Madrid on April 23.
While the player is said to be concerned about his conduct, as noted by OptaJose, it’s the first time he’s ever been dismissed in La Liga:
However, there have been other concerning moments. The forward kicked out at Marquinhos against Paris Saint-Germain earlier in the campaign and was lucky to escape punishment, and there have been signs of angst building in other games too.
In national team colours, Neymar was sent off for Brazil against Colombia at the 2015 Copa America after a mass brawl.
It’s a temper he needs to channel more appropriately. After all, his absence could potentially cost Barcelona the chance to challenge for the La Liga title, and beating Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu without him will be a massive ask for Enrique’s men.
Neymar also heads into Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Juventus knowing that one yellow card would see him suspended for the next game.
