Neville vs. Austin Aries Announced for WWE Payback 2017 Cruiserweight Title

WWE announced Monday night on Raw Austin Aries will have another shot at Neville's Cruiserweight Championship at Payback on April 30, according to Marc Middleton of PWMania.com.

Neville successfully defended the belt against Aries at WrestleMania 33. Their match was the first on the WrestleMania pre-show and helped set the stage for a memorable night.

Aries' addition to the cruiserweight division provided a much-needed shot in the arm. WWE also perfectly played out his transition from announcing back to wrestling:

A rematch between Neville and Aries is WWE's smartest play for Payback. None of the other cruiserweights has established himself as a genuine threat to the current champion. Neville not only needed to break out the Red Arrow to beat Aries, he also had to gouge his previously injured eye in order to get out of the Last Chancery.

Two matches have now been finalized for Payback, both of which are WrestleMania return bouts. In addition to Neville vs. Aries, Chris Jericho will attempt to win back the United States Championship from Kevin Owens.
