UEFA Champions League holders Real Madrid face a daunting trip as they travel to Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals on Wednesday.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale will be hoping to exercise their influence in the first leg, taking place at the Allianz Arena in Bavaria, Germany.

Los Blancos continue to lead La Liga after a credible run of form in Spain's top division, and Bayern currently top the Bundesliga by 10 points.

According to Marca (h/t Jack Wilson of the Express), Bayern hitman Robert Lewandowski is a "huge doubt" ahead of the visit of the 11-time champions of Europe, as manager Carlo Ancelotti faces his former club. 

The Poland international missed training after Der FCB beat Borussia Dortmund on Saturday. The striker suffered a shoulder injury against BVB after colliding with the goalkeeper.

However, Ancelotti insisted his star attacker will make his starting line-up in the first leg, per Marca.

"Lewy sustained a bruise," said the coach. "But the medical unit says it's no problem with regard to Wednesday."

Bayern stopper Manuel Neuer has returned to training after injury, but it is unknown if he will play against the Galacticos, per Wilson.

The 27-year-old has only featured once in Europe this term, according to WhoScored, but has 18 starts in La Liga under his belt.
