Exasperated MMA Fighter Stops Before Round Is Over, Confusing Her Opponent

A general rule of thumb in an MMA fight—really any fight—is to never stop until you know it's over.

On Friday, during her LFA 8 bout at TD Convention Center in Greenville, South Carolina, Calie Cutler, perhaps thinking she heard the bell to end the round against Alexa Conners, decided she was going to take a break after getting a punch to the face.       

Bleeding and clearly frustrated, she turns her back on her opponent and puts her hands on her hips.    

Conners, appearing confused, stops and looks back at the referee who signals for her to keep fighting.

Conners then resumes the bout by throwing punches, while Cutler hardly attempts any sort of defense and just eats them.   

The whole thing was an odd scene that becomes more and more hilarious with each viewing.
