Giorgio Chiellini Receives 'Top Marks' on Business Administration Masters Degree

Matt JonesApr 7, 2017

Regarded as one of the most cerebral footballers in the game, perhaps it's little surprise that Juventus' veteran defender Giorgio Chiellini has been awarded with a Masters Degree.

As reported by BBC Sport, the 32-year-old was presented with the accolade on Thursday having successfully completed a course in Business Administration with "top marks."

The man himself posted the following snap on his Twitter feed:

"To the end," read the accompanying caption, per Football Italia. "This motto accompanied me on the pitch. It also supported me in these years with books. I'm happy to have received my degree!"

As reported by Football Italia, the Italy star presented a thesis entitled "The Business Model of Juventus Football Club in an International Context" as part of his degree at the University of Turin. It's suggested he completed the course with distinction.

The Bianconeri posted their own message of congratulations to their player on the club's official website. "Everyone associated with the club would like to congratulate Giorgio on his excellent results and achievement," read a section of the bulletin.

Chiellini has been excelling on the field for many years, too, cementing his status as a stalwart at the back for Juventus.

Having joined the Turin giants from Roma in 2005 he's gone from strength to strength, blossoming into one of the very best defenders in the world. Alongside centre-back partner Leonardo Bonucci and goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, Chiellini has helped forge one of the meanest defensive setups in world football.

In his 12 years at the club he's won Serie A five times and the Coppa Italia twice. With a six-point lead atop the Italian top flight, Chiellini and Juventus are well on their way to another this season.
