NFL Draft Prospect Jordan Morgan Says Team Challenged Him to Staring Contest
Every NFL Scouting Combine produces head-scratching tales of inane interview questions presented to prospects. Kutztown guard Jordan Morgan told one such puzzling story of a team's elementary school tactic.
According to PennLive.com's Dustin Hockensmith, an unidentified NFL club issued a staring contest. Morgan, who called the odd request "one of those things you don't question on the spot," described his performance:
"I didn't blink at all. He told me I could stare at anything. I just focused on a water bottle. I don't know how long it was, but it was pretty long. My eyes were fogging up. I couldn't see after. He was just like, "I got what I need. You can stop now."
"
Perhaps the squad wants ultra-focused linemen who won't flinch during a quarterback's hard count. Or maybe an executive's 12-year-old child suggested it.
Bleacher Report's Matt Miller ranked Morgan eighth among the draft's incoming guards. That grade probably didn't consider his staring prowess.
