She may have been safe, but this is not a moment Akron Zips freshman Madison Carter will want in her career highlight reel.

When a teammate laid down a bunt against Buffalo on Tuesday, Carter made her way to second. However, things took a bizarre turn when she got caught up in the wet dirt, resulting in a face-plant. Fortunately for her, the throw went to first and she was able to make it to the bag safely.

Carter appeared to laugh it off immediately, so it's good to see she wasn't injured.
