Michael Irvin Says Video Will Prove Innocence in Sexual Assault Allegations
Michael Irvin says that a surveillance video will prove his innocence, according to TMZ Sports, after a woman accused the former NFL wide receiver of sexually assaulting her in Fort Lauderdale in March.
"There was no one passed out in that room," Irving said, adding: "Nothing happened."
Irvin, 51, also said that the devil "is trying to shake my faith in people. I cannot let him prevail."

The former wideout said the woman was a long-time friend of his and that surveillance footage would show them leaving the room together. He added he would never do anything to harm her.
The woman said that she and Irvin were in a bar on March 21 before going back to Irvin's hotel room together, per TMZ Sports. She said she began to feel sick in his room and the last thing she remembered was fighting off his advances. She said Irvin was preparing to leave the hotel and check out of his room as she woke up. She then told cops she feared she had been drugged and raped, and went to a medical facility to have tests done.
Irvin, meanwhile, said in the aftermath of the allegations that the woman had followed him to his hotel room, but that he was only in the room for 15 minutes before leaving and another man had been present. He said he had no sexual contact with the woman.
Fort Lauderdale police said last week there was an "open investigation" looking into the matter, per A.J. Perez of USA Today.
