Arsenal Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Olivier Giroud and Gabriel Barbosa
Marseille will reportedly try to move for Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud during the summer, while Gunners target Gabriel Barbosa could leave Inter Milan after just a single season in the Italian fashion capital.
According to French outlet L'Equipe (h/t TalkSport), Marseille are ready to spend big during the summer thanks to new owner Frank McCourt and his significant funds. One target would be Giroud, who could follow former West Ham United star Dimitri Payet back to France.

Giroud hasn't been an automatic starter for the Gunners this season thanks to several injuries and manager Arsene Wenger's decision to play Alexis Sanchez as a striker. When he has featured, the France international has done well, but he's spent more time on the bench than he'd like.
Per Mirror Football, he remains a very effective option:
The 30-year-old has been with the club since 2012 and remains a popular figure among the fans. While he's had many magical moments in the Arsenal shirt, he won't be mistaken for a world-class option at the striker position, which explains Wenger's decision to move Sanchez inside after initially playing him on the wing.
Giroud's role likely won't expand next season if he stays at Arsenal, so he could seek a move elsewhere. A return to France would make sense―Marseille are an ambitious club with the funds necessary to challenge Paris Saint-Germain for the title if they spend wisely.
Meanwhile, Calciomercato.com report both the Gunners and Liverpool are willing to offer Barbosa―known as Gabigol―a way out of Inter.

The Brazil international moved to the Nerazzurri during the summer but has barely featured for the club, with former manager Frank De Boer and current boss Stefano Pioli seemingly not rating the youngster.
Gabigol was seen as one of the top talents available during the summer, and Inter's decision not to give him a chance is baffling. Against Sampdoria, he was sent out to warm up before Pioli decided not to use him, despite the team seeking a goal. Inter wound up losing the match.
As you can see in the video below, the 20-year-old flashed plenty of talent during his time in Brazil:
Gabigol is frequently compared to Luis Suarez of Barcelona due to his playing style, and he had a spectacular scoring record in Santos' youth setup. He has superb vision and dribbling ability, and he's a natural finisher.
Inter spent big on the youngster less than a year ago and will likely want to recoup some of that money if they decide to part with Gabigol. Per the report, he cost the Nerazzurri nearly £26 million last summer.
