Ivan Rakitic Reportedly Mocks Andreas Pereira During Barcelona's Win vs. Granada

Rory MarsdenApr 4, 2017

Ivan Rakitic reportedly taunted Andreas Pereira for his club's league position as Barcelona beat 19th-placed Granada 4-1 in La Liga on Sunday.

The Croatian midfielder netted Barca's third goal seven minutes from time at Los Carmenes, and he also picked up a booking late on after clashing with Manchester United loanee Pereira.

According to MailOnline's Tom Bassam, Rakitic, 29, was not happy with the decision, and television pictures revealed him shouting at 21-year-old Pereira: "Down you go to the second division you son of a bitch."

While second-placed Barca are fighting for a potential third La Liga title triumph in a row, Granada are indeed ensconced in a relegation battle they are likely to lose.

They are eight points from safety with nine games of the season remaining having won just four matches all season, per La Liga:

Pereira, though, may no longer be at Granada when they inevitably start next season in the Segunda Division as he is only on a season-long loan at the club from Old Trafford.

The Brazilian midfielder joined the Andalusian outfit last August and has netted four goals and provided two assists in 27 league appearances in 2016-17, per WhoScored.com.

He recently told United's official website that he plans to fight for a first-team spot at Old Trafford next season: "It’s my dream to play for United on a regular basis. It always has been a dream but now I’m here at Granada and I have to focus here to get us out of this situation. My dream will always be there and, next season, I will fight for it."
