EPL Table: 2017 Week 30 Standings After Sunday's Premier League Scores

Gianni VerschuerenApr 2, 2017

Arsenal and Manchester City played out a 2-2 draw during Sunday's Premier League action, a result that didn't help either team. Sunday's other match also ended in a stalemate with Swansea City and Middlesbrough failing to score.

Tottenham Hotspur are the big winners of the weekend following their win over Burnley and Chelsea's shock loss against Crystal Palace. Liverpool also grabbed three points, beating Everton in the Merseyside derby.

Here's a look at the current Premier League standings:

City twice took the lead at the Emirates Stadium, with Leroy Sane scoring early and Sergio Aguero adding a goal of his own just before half-time.

Theo Walcott had tied things up shortly before, and Shkodran Mustafi did the same after the break. A late push from City led to a few chances and a controversial non-call when Nacho Monreal appeared to handle the ball in the box, but overall, neither team did enough to warrant a late winner.

Per Squawka News, the stalemate was bad news for Arsenal's chance to finish in the top four:

The result leaves City in fourth place, five points ahead of rivals Manchester United, who have a match in hand. The Red Devils featured on Saturday, playing out a draw against West Bromwich Albion.

At this stage of the season, the Citizens seem a good bet to finish in the top four, with United facing a tricky schedule that also includes matches in the UEFA Europa League. The midweek match at Chelsea will be a big one for manager Pep Guardiola.

Arsenal are two points behind United with a match in hand as well, and their impressive UEFA Champions League streak is in real danger of coming to an end.

Sportswriter Nooruddean Choudry couldn't help himself:

The title race seems all but over―although City could add some real drama with a win at Stamford Bridge―and the race for Europe will likely become the main topic of conversation in the Premier League the coming weeks.

Everton's loss against Liverpool wasn't a disaster for the Toffees, who still maintain a solid lead over West Brom. The FA Cup semi-finalists are all expected to qualify for a European competition through the league, so Everton's Europa League chances are solid.

Elsewhere, Swansea and Middlesbrough failed to significantly improve their chances of surviving the drop by playing out a scoreless draw. Swans manager Paul Clement perhaps said it best:

Swansea's lead over Hull City remains just a single point, while Boro's situation is starting to look dire with eight matches left on the schedule.
